Advising Services

Advising Services

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently offering in-person appointments or drop-ins.

MEP advisors are here to assist with academic, career, and personal questions. MEP advisors are trained and work right alongside advisors within the Advising Program in Engineering Student Services (ESS). Meeting with your advisor is a great way to make sure you are making academic progress and to clear up any questions or concerns you might have throughout your journey at Cal Poly. Both virtual appointments and drop-in advising are available. Although we can't meet in person, we're open and here for you in a variety of virtual ways!

Coaching

All of our advisors within MEP are trained to provide you with academic coaching regarding personal, academic, or professional concerns. Through coaching, you have the option to meet with an advisor on a more frequent and consistent basis to discuss goal setting, motivation, effective study strategies, and improve time management. Coaching is a way to help you stay accountable for your goals and to feel supported in your academic journey.

MEP Study Room & Computer Lab

A 24-hour study room and computer lab is available to you as a MEP student in Building 40, Room 110. You use this room as a home base for individual and group study. This is also a great place for you to meet peers with similar interests. You will need to swipe your Cal Poly ID and be part of MEP to access the study room after business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.).

Since MEP is currently assisting students remotely, the study room and computer lab will be closed until further notice to ensure the safety of everyone. We apologize for the inconvenience! Please contact us at mep@calpoly.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
